We had a recent ice storm in Seattle. Our Maple Tree took a hit.We have rope and and tie on the tree where it is cracked. Is there a way to repair the tree?

It's very hard to give you an answer without seeing the tree, knowing the age, health of the tree and extant of the damage. I'm including a link to a website that may help you assess the damage and a make a decision. If not I would suggest consulting an arborist. Good luck! http://extension.missouri.edu/p/G6867
