Can I grow gladioli, tulips, and daffodils in Florida?
—Lee Gamache, Titusville, FL
You can grow gladioli quite easily. However, northern favorites such as tulips and daffodils bloom poorly or not at all—even in Florida’s cooler northern counties. Instead of crocus, hyacinths, tulips, and daffodils, try rain lilies, blood lilies, spider lilies, amaryllis, and crinum lilies. All are well adapted to Florida’s warmer climate.
