How much soil fills a pot?

Getting ready to plant or transplant? Here's how many containers one cubic foot of potting soil will fill:

Standard round pots
2 1/4-inch: 256
4-inch: 48
8-inch: 6
Hanging baskets
8-inch: 11
10-inch: 5
Seedling trays
20-row tray: 11
Germination flats
Standard flat: 7

Soil mix by volume
1 bushel = 1 1/4 cubic feet
1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet
1 cubic yard = 22 bushels
100 square feet bed with 6 inches of soil = 40 bushels or 50 cubic feet of soil mix.

I appreciate the old articles to a certain extent. Is there not an editor WE pay to weed out the old comments before the article is run? Or should we just hope this poor guy's question was answered in the past 15 months? Just wondering. The thought of him out there with a tape measure and calculator is just too much for us sensitive types. I hope someone told him.
