You will need:
• White sneakers
• Liquid fabric dye*:
Apple Green, Yellow, Dark Green (tie-dyed sneakers)
Royal Blue (laces)
Rose Pink, Scarlet, Wine (pink sneakers)
• Sponges, brushes or spray bottles
• Rubber bands
• Plastic tablecloth or newspapers
• Measuring spoons & measuring cup
• Disposable containers for each dye color
• Plastic disposable spoons
• Plastic dish pan & liquid soap
• Rubber gloves
• Paper towels

• Dye color recipes specify liquid dye. One box of powder dye can be substituted for 1/2 cup liquid dye.
• Cover work surface with plastic tablecloth or newspaper.
Tie-Dyed Camouflage Sneakers
STEP 1: Apply green dye. Mix 1/2 cup Apple Green dye with two cups very hot tap water (140 degrees F). Randomly sponge dye over sneakers. Note: If tap water is not hot enough, heat water in microwave or tea kettle.
STEP 2: Apply yellow dye. Mix 1/2 cup Yellow dye with 1 1/2 cups hot water. Sponge dye over sneakers in same way.
STEP 3: Apply dark green dye. Mix 1/2 cup Dark Green dye with one cup hot water. Sponge dye over sneakers as an accent.
STEP 4: Finish. Let sneakers dry for 24 hours. Rinse in cold water. Wash in mild soap and warm water. Rinse and air dry.
STEP 1: Wash laces. Wash laces in soap and warm water. Rinse.
STEP 2: Tie dye. Randomly bunch up laces and tie tightly with rubber bands. Mix 1/2 cup Royal Blue dye with one cup very hot water. Immerse laces in dye bath for ten minutes.
STEP 3: Finish. Rinse in cold water. Cut rubber bands and wash with mild soap and warm water. Air dry.
STEP 1: Mix dyes. Mix 1/4 cup Rose Pink dye with one cup very hot tap water. Mix 1/2 cup Scarlet dye with one cup very hot tap water. Mix 1/2 cup Wine dye with one cup very hot tap water.
STEP 2: Spray sneakers. Pour each dye into a small spray bottle. Randomly spray dyes over sneakers.
STEP 3: Finish. Let sneakers dry 24 hours. Rinse in cold water. Wash in mild soap and warm water. Rinse and air dry.
