Pruning Contest Sponsored by Fiskars

OFFICIAL RULES: Sponsored by NAAC (North American Affinity Clubs Inc) and Fiskars Brands, Inc. (Fiskars). Open to members of the National Home Gardening Club (NHGC). No additional purchase is necessary. Contest judges, employees (and their immediate family members) of NAAC or Fiskars; their divisions, dealerships, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotion agencies, and all other entities or individuals associated with the development, administration or fulfillment of this promotion are not eligible to win. Void where restricted or prohibited. All federal, state, and local laws apply. A prize won by a minor will be awarded to the minor's legal guardian. Contest begins on May 1, 2008. Pruning entries must be original and not previously published. Multiple entries are allowed. Entries must be received on or before August 31, 2008. No responsibility is assumed for late, lost, damaged, illegible, postage-due or misdirected entries. All entries become the property of NAAC and Fiskars and will not be returned or acknowledged. Entries will be judged on: originality, creativity, relevance to the topic (pruning of a plant, shrub or tree to enhance and bring out its best), and broad appeal. NAAC reserves the right to adjust and edit stories prior to publication. Judge’s decisions concerning all matters related to this contest are final. Winners will be notified by mail by October 31, 2008. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, and publicity release. All prizes will be awarded. Limit of one prize per NHGC member. No cash substitution, transfer, or assignment of prizes allowed, except by NAAC, which reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. All taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winner releases NAAC, Fiskars, and all other entities or individuals associated with the development, administration or fulfillment of this promotion from any liability arising out of participation in this contest or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the prizes. Winner grants to NAAC the right to use his/her name, photograph, likeness, biographical information, and pruning project in advertising and promotion without compensation or permission (except where prohibited). Winners’ names and submissions may be published in Gardening How-To magazine or online at gardeningclub.com at NAAC’s sole discretion. For a list of the winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the address listed below (WA residents may omit postage) by November 30, 2008.

Grand Prize Package: $500 in addition to the Fiskars prize package

1st Runner Up: $250 in addition to the Fiskars prize package

2nd Runner Up: $100 in addition to the Fiskars prize package

Prizes will be shipped directly to the winners by November 30, 2008.
To Enter
• Submit a photo (no Polaroids) of completed pruning project along with a 75 word description of what inspires you to garden or what inspired this particular pruning project. Before-and-after images are encouraged but not required.
• Entries will be judged on: originality, creativity, relevance to the topic (pruning of a plant, shrub or tree to enhance and bring out its best), and broad appeal.
• Submit entries by Post or Online. Post entries must be clearly printed or typed on 8.5 by 11-inch paper (front side of each page only). Include your name, NHGC member number, address, and daytime phone number with each entry.
